We established La Dolce Vita Food Tours in 2025 with the intention of creating a memorable experience around the Italian dinner table.

In September of 2025 we did just that, with nine guests who enjoyed great conversation and hilarious stories (sometimes raunchy songs) around the table, which was loaded with great food and wine. We knew we had succeeded when people who had only known each other for a week, said goodbye with teary eyes.
Our trips will change each year and will always be limited to less than ten people.
Journey Through Flavor
Michael and Jennifer Lewis have traveled the world as photographers and seekers of good food. Michael led photography workshops in Uganda, Kenya and Colorado. Together they led Day of the Dead photography workshops in Chiapas, Mexico.
Michael worked as a professional photographer for many years for National Geographic, traveling to all 50 states in the U.S., every Canadian province and, so far, to 57 countries. He has visited Italy eight times and has been to wineries in California, Argentina, France, Spain and Italy. A brief career in the restaurant business preceeded his photography career, and led to his keen interest in growing, cooking and eating great food. His last job combined his love of photography, food and Italy as the Marketing Manager for M’tucci’s Restaurants. During his six years with M’tucci’s he traveled to Italy twice with the chefs and managers, and wrote a weekly newsletter about Italian food, travel and culture.
Jennifer comes from a family who moved frequently for her father’s management job with UPS. She traveled extensively throughou Europe while attending high school in Germany and London. While living in the small Colorado mountain town of Creede, she would close her day spa during the winter and venture to South America, visiting Peru, Bolivia, Argentina and Ecuador. She became a certified diver in the Galapagos Islands. After graduating with a photography degree from Brooks Institute in California, she and Michael began dating. They married on the island of Cozumel, Mexico and operated a photography business there for eight years.
Together, they tend to a large vegetable garden, fruit trees, and watch over their brood of dogs and cats in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
